Production Planner 1

This is a day shift position.

 

Purpose of the Position:

Schedules and coordinates the flow of work for manufacturing plant, various departments for shipping or freight carriers to meet customer’s requirements.  Reviews master production schedule and work orders.  Establishes priorities for specific customer orders or projects, and revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of manpower, inventory, machines, and equipment.

 

Major Duties:

  • Accepts incoming orders, plans, prepares and communicates production schedules for manufacturing of products to all suitable departments.
  • Establishes sequences and lead times of each process to meet shipping dates in accordance to sales forecasts or customers’ orders.
  • Maintains and informs sales and or customers of updates on orders and delivery times.
  • Coordinates and acts as the liaison between, sales, operations, shipping and key team members and supervisors, making certain of clear communication between departments for improved customer service.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine the of assigned projects and any unforeseen conditions, delays or altered schedules.
  • Prepares, processes and distributes documents and reports to shipping department or freight carriers and accounting.
  • Assists with completing required reports for certification of metal orders and shipments.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Previous office and customer service experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and work with a variety of employees and customers.
  • Computer experience and to use
  • Ability to work internally in a team environment as well as externally with customers.
  • Perform routine office tasks, understand written and oral instruction, and make accurate mathematical calculations.
