Programmer -  Eugene, Oregon (this position may be based out of either the Eugene, Oregon or Vancouver, WA location.)

Swing Shift: Typically Monday-Friday with overtime occurring on weekends as needed.

Position Purpose:  

Learn and execute the development and support of NC programs for CNC metal processing equipment generated from customer specifications.  Help deliver quality metal solutions that drive customer success.

Major Duties:  

  • Work from detail drawings, 2D geometry files, 3D models, sketches, templates and notes to generate quality NC programs for CNC metal processing equipment using various CAD/CAM software.

  • Support the Programming Department through the following:
    • Proof and troubleshoot NC Programs to ensure trouble free operation
    • Assist in investigations of, and solutions to, technical problems involving NC programs and machine operation
    • Review and verify existing programs for compliance with customer specifications and machine capabilities
    • Assist Operators with qualification and validation of machine parameters
    • Recommend and assist in implementing improvements to efficiency and throughput

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 6+ years of manufacturing process experience, including a minimum of 4 years in NC programming or comparable education and a demonstrated knowledge of drafting standards or relevant technical knowledge.
  • A thorough understanding of manufacturing methods, capabilities, procedures, and standards.
  • Proficiency with CAD and CAM software, SigmaNest preferred.
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Proficiency with flat pattern development methods and terminology.
  • Be team oriented and results driven, with the ability to work within a team of diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrate motivation, initiative and high level of attention to detail.
  • Able to work from written instructions, detailed engineering drawings, 2D and 3D models.
  • Understanding of and ability to edit ‘G’ and ‘M’ Code language as used in plate and sheet processing
  • Ability to use elementary math, trigonometry, and geometry.
  • Able to work independently as a problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to finish projects promptly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
