Lead Equipment Operator

Location: Vancouver, WA

Shift: One position (All shifts).  Bay 3

 

Position Purpose: Coordinate the workflow and employees in the respective department. Work as a liaison for your employees, to other departments.  Leads crew by setting a good example, while carrying out the tasks set by the Supervisor.

 

Major Duties:

  • Discussing and planning with supervisor, coordinate the delivery sequencing and schedules to efficiently meet customer expectations every time an order is placed.
  • Perform safe and efficient operation of a small and a large forklift. At times will be required to run an overhead crane, palletize, wrap, or containerize material in preparation for delivery.
  • Represent the company’s interests in a positive and professional fashion with customers, receiving personnel, etc. Document and deliver feedback from customers to supervisor.
  • Report any discrepancies or off-quality observed to QC or Supervisor. Serve as “last eyes” for quality requirements and assurance. 
  • Fuel and maintain the equipment you use, and advise supervisor of any problems or solutions.    
  • Promote safety awareness and assist in accident investigations, and proper accident reporting.
  • Advise supervisor when supplies are approaching a low level in a timely, routine manner.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Reading, basic math, writing skills and computer entry knowledge required. Must be able to read English and metric tape measures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Experience with Oracle, is a plus.
  • Brake press, Laser and CNC machine experience is a plus
  • Supervisor/Team leader experience is a plus
  • Operate lift truck and overhead crane.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in shipping/receiving/material handling required.
  • Full understanding of purchase order, receiving and shipping procedures.
  • Understanding of material specifications and sales order requirements.
