About this position:

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with limited after hours and weekends as required
Starting Wage: $75,000 - $112,000, depending on experience
Farwest Steel’s Sales Department seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as Branch Sales Manager. In this role, you will provide leadership and guidance to both inside and outside sales personnel. Responsibilities include developing account representatives, monitoring sales metrics, implementing pricing strategies, maintaining customer credit status, and facilitating communication across divisions, branches, and corporate departments. The Branch Sales Manager will also play a key role in defining and executing work strategies that support profitability and market growth both within existing accounts and through new customer acquisition.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Grow profitable market share in steel distribution, processing, and advanced processing services.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to inside and outside sales teams to reach performance goals.
- Develop and maintain strategic plans for increasing sales volume and customer base.
- Design and implement training programs that support staff development and optimize organizational performance.
- Lead customer negotiations and manage complex RFQs and RFPs to secure long-term supply agreements.
- Monitor and report on key sales performance metrics, identify trends, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate with operations, purchasing, credit, and other divisions to align efforts and improve customer satisfaction.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews and lead regular sales meetings with data-driven action planning.
- Support the integration of pricing strategies and ensure credit policies are enforced.
- Stay informed on market conditions, competitor activity, and customer needs to drive informed decision-making.
- Represent Farwest Steel professionally during customer visits, industry events, and after-hours engagements as required.
Minor Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, expenses, and sales forecasts.
- Review trade publications and industry websites to stay current on market trends and competitor activity.
- Document key account development and internal communications as needed for cross-functional coordination.
- Represent Farwest in a professional manner at industry events, customer functions, and after-hours engagements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing structures, and SOPs across all sales activities.
- Support special projects or company initiatives as assigned by senior leaderships.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; preference given to candidates with a college degree or coursework in business or manufacturing.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain vehicle insurance.
- Prior supervisory experience managing a diverse sales team in the steel or related industrial sector.
- Demonstrated success in developing strategic business plans and growing market share.
- Strong leadership skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to travel and work independently with minimal day-to-day direction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
